I’m saying “yes” at Grant Thornton
From the day I first met with members of the Grant Thornton team, I had a good feeling about working here. But I had no idea the level of support I’d get from colleagues, the leadership opportunities I'd receive and how much I'd grow in less than a year.
I lead with pride
Shortly after joining the firm, I began organizing events for Equality GT, our LGBTQ+ and allies business resource group, including for the Charlotte Pride parade. I was one of five teammates nominated to attend the Out & Equal Workplace Summit. Soon after, I became a national co-lead for Equality GT’s Community Engagement pillar. The more I say “yes,” the more opportunities I receive.
“You can do taxes anywhere, but at Grant Thornton, you’re able to work with a great, supportive team that you can learn and grow from.”
— Dominique McCormick
Associate, Tax Services
I embrace my identities
A couple of years ago, I came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and when I first joined the firm, I was afraid to put my pronouns (they/them) in my email signature. But the culture at Grant Thornton makes me feel secure in bringing my own self to work. I realized it’s a safe space, and I’m getting more comfortable with owning my identity every day.
I’m learning and growing
I take advantage of professional development opportunities to pursue my interests and develop new skills. I’ve received a digital badge in DE&I, and hope to pursue Active Allyship and professional skill badges as well. Participating in the Talent Experience Program also let me explore different tax practices and narrow down my interest in state and local tax and privately held business tax.
