A technology client making its entry into the advanced planning system market needed to design a software solution based on its growth strategy. The strategy was derived from insights on the competitive landscape, product capabilities, market dynamics, customer perspectives and pricing strategies, but the client’s resources were limited.

 
 

Grant Thornton professionals helped the client evaluate the product and identified the use cases and supporting technical functionality needed to accelerate their subscription rate with the goal of increasing revenue from their customer base.

 

We defined a nomenclature for the platform offering portfolio and also listed industry-specific features for planning systems. Grant Thornton identified the business problem and defined successful customer outcomes, launch considerations and organizational impacts for its initial recommendations.

 

For each of the platform’s features, the team created screen designs and mockups complete with representations of defined user flow and system interactions. We also outlined functional requirements for each of the platform’s features along with use cases, persona definitions and work breakdown structures.

 
 

The IT team was able to immediately begin development of the new software features based on the detailed product canvasses, screen designs and requirements for all in-scope product features provided by Grant Thornton. We accelerated the client's path to market in terms of features and functionality, resulting in revenue acceleration of 15% to 20%.
